Spanish designer Martín Azúa‘s Tread Carpet is made of esparto and has a pattern that is formed of footprints. Esparto is a grass that is traditionally used in the making of the soles of the sandals like espadrilles. The carpet is made by women artisans from the region of Murcia in Spain. Ondule is a chair by French designer Mattis Esnault that came about following a call for projects from the French design schools. The chair cover comprises undulating waves of foam and Kvadrat fabric, which form a skin-like layer on top of the solid chair form. The Ideal Home Show at Earls Court in London opens today. The Prince’s House is one of the star attractions of the event and adorning its floors will be Beetle rugs by Veedon Fleece. The show ends on 1 April 2012.
