Each summer the Royal Academy’s walls are adorned with a diverse display of contemporary art by well-known names and new talent. For 2018, the 250thSummer Show has been curated by Grayson Perry RA and a committee of fellow artists. From Anish Kapoor’s monumental sculpture in the RA courtyard to works by David Hockney, Tracey Emin and David Shrigley, the show is another feast for the eyes. Here we show a selection of textile pieces from the exhibition—from embroidered newspapers and mobile phones to Debbie Lawson’s Red Bear carpet—which is on in London until 19 August.
