Henzel Collaborations in Milan
Swedish design company Henzel Studio‘s latest rug offerings are in the form of a collaboration project between a new branch of the company Henzel Studio Collaborations and 12 well-known international artists and designers, including Richard Prince, Anselm Reyle, Helmut Lang, Linder and Juergen Teller. The stunning rugs produced for this venture featured in the latest issue of COVER, while Linder’s eye-catching Linderama rug design adorns the cover.
For Salone del Mobile in Milan next week, Henzel Studio will be showing new rugs from its own Diamond Dust/Nordic Raw collection plus a worldwide exclusive debut of the Helmut Lang and Anselm Reyle rugs from the Henzel Studio Collaborations at the Temporary Museum of New Design, Superstudio Più, Via Tortona 27, featuring contemporary design selected by an artistic board headed by Giulio Cappellini.
Lang’s rug, Untitled, 2013, is based on a sculpture, which has been translated into a free-form shape with a highly intricate, multi-level and contrasting sculptural surface. Reyle based his design on a piece from his signature foil series, utilizing free-form techniques and variable material compositions to mirror the original work’s attributes.
