Kilims in a cloister
Ahmet Diler and Marc-Antoine Gallice present an exhibition of old and new kilims.
Ahmet Diler and Marc-Antoine Gallice of Kilims Ada are presenting an exhibition of old and new kilims in the atmospheric Cloître des Billettes in Paris. The medieval cloister brings out the stunning colours and patterns of flatweaves collected in Anatolia, Iran, the Caucasus and Central Asia. Complementing the traditional pieces are kilims representing the latest in contemporary design. Working with designer Florence Bourel, Kilims Ada have rejuvenated time-honoured crafts, producing textiles from felt, hemp, rags, goat hair as well as wool carrying modern geometric patterns.
Kilims Ada, Cloître des Billettes, 24 rue des Archives, until 29 March 2016
