Mention the word ‘Lovelace’ and most people would probably assume we were referring to the new film currently out staring Amanda Seyfried as the eponymous Linda Lovelace. That is not the ‘Lovelace’ we wish to discuss right now. ‘Lovelace’ is an exhibition currently on at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. It is a display of artwork by 134 artists from 20 countries, who are showing off their passion for lace in playful and inventive ways – the art of lace as never seen before. The works on show range from fashion to video and materials used include gold and silver wire, horse hair, tapa cloth, linen, silk and optical fibre.
