London’s most important design graduate exhibition New Designers returns to Islington’s Business Centre on 25-28 June and 2-5 July 2014. With its focus on fresh the show is great springboard for new designers entering the marketplace and a place to spot emerging talent. The first week focuses on textiles, fashion and accessories, contemporary applied arts (ceramics, glass etc), jewellery and metalwork whilst week two features visual communications (graphic design and illustration), furniture and product design, and motion arts and theatre design.
Young, entrepreneurial designers in their first year of business will also feature within New Designers in One Year On. It runs across both weeks of the show and covers all disciplines, with exhibitors chosen through a selection process judging the strength of their work, flair and quality of product.
A daily programme of talks and tours will run during both Parts of New Designers and are free to attend. Current issues and topics pertinent to the design sector will be addressed, offering support and insight to anyone in the design industry. Contributors include Global Color Research, Design Museum, John Lewis, Procter & Gamble, Design Council and The Design Trust.
