The Midas rug

Created with Aulana technology, the Aulana Midas rug is woven using colloidal dispersions of gold within the pores of the wool fibres but it is not the colour of gold. The technology used, an invention of Nobel Bond Ltd,  provides a range of colours in shades of pink, mauve, grey and blue. The rug was designed by SoFarSoNear for Wools of New Zealand and woven by Obeetee. The ‘earring’ design is made up of two circular pieces and a third in a tear drop shape, to add to the feeling of luxury.

The Midas rug will be unveiled in February 2015 and will be available to view by appointment only at SoFarSoNear’s London showroom in Grosvenor Place.
