Harlem, Wool & Silk
There are certain ‘must-do’ events on the annual rug calendar and The Rug Show LA is one of them. Returning to Los Angeles on 3-5 April, The Rug Show continues to be a great fair for buyers and retailers based on the west side of the USA. Trade will not only come from neighbouring states, as this year subsidised accommodation has attracted attention from further south, in particular Mexico, Peru and Brazil. Amongst the exhibitors to benefit are Slocum Rug Gallery, Robin Gray Design, Wool & Silk, Tamarian, Caravan Modern, Mobayen, Ayka Design, Rug & Kilim, Creative Touch, Art Resources and Zollanvari.
Amongst the great rugs that will be on show Ayka Design will display an exclusive range of new carpets, not yet seen by the public while Robin Gray will be showing off new rugs – including the black and white designs featured in our recent article on the designer in COVER 42 – and a new range of furniture upholstered with rugs. Tamarian‘s display will include the designs Decked pw James, a phoenix weave rug in 100% wool, and Disailles tk Ice, a twisted knot rug with 20% silk. Wool & Silk will show Harlem, the firm’s newest addition to the award winning Manhattan Collection and Snow Leopard, part of its 100% silk collection from India.
For Zollanvari, this will be the first US presentation of the firm’s Iranian carpet production since the lifting of the embargo against the importation of Iranian goods. These Persian designs will sit alongside new rugs from the Kundan Silk Collections, which are made in India.
The Rug Show LA is a three-day event that starts on Sunday 3 April at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S Figueroa St.
