For the 50th edition of COVER, we asked influential people in the world of handmade carpets to without prejudice name the best rug since the first issue 13 years ago. Interior designer Sasan Salari of Salari Fine Carpet Collections chose Blooming Out Loud by Zoe Luyndijk.
‘Zoë was one of the pioneers of creating detailed, organic designs in Nepal, with incredible technical complexity. The combination of wool, silk and linen highlight the different textures of the design. Zoë’s talent is creating carpets with multiple strong colours, yet with the end result being very harmonious. This is a strong design that appeals to many clients, works well with furniture placements and provides great visual interest.’
