‘We only want to create rugs of the highest quality. Rugs that you are proud to own.’
Reza Rejaye
Founded in 1991, Danish rug brand Rezas has grown to become Northern Europe’s largest importer of oriental and modern rugs, offering a vast assortment of high-quality contemporary rugs together with a range of oriental collections. The brand’s contemporary designs tend to have a modern Scandinavian style and there is big focus on materials and textures.
Rezas’ Odense showroom is a rug destination, where visitors can view up to 100,000 rugs. In 2020, the company opened a capsule shop-in-shop in the home furnishings department of the prestigious Illums Bolighus store in the centre of Copenhagen. Rezas is also a regular exhibitor at important design events such as Domotex Hanover and Maison&Objet, where the firm’s stand is always buzzing with activity.

For Maison&Objet on 8-12 September, Rezas will be showing new rug designs to suit the requirements of today’s buyers. To ensure there is rug for every taste and every room, modern design Scandinavian kilims and upcycled Persian vintage rugs will accompany high-end, hand-knotted designs from the Seduction, Landscape and Harvest series. Seduction is hand-knotted in a high-quality wool and viscose blend for optimal shine, while the designs of Landscape reflect multifarious views of our planet, and the Harvest rugs are hand-knotted the traditional way in the finest Persian wool.
‘For September our new rugs focus heavily on natural colours, used both in very high-pile hand-knotted rugs and more accessible kilim examples, plus we are working on a much wider kilim program.’
Reza Rejaye

Always in tune with the market, Rezas’ developments for September have a heavy focus on natural colours, with products such as a variety of luxurious undyed wool rugs in very high hand-knotted pile. The well-curated mix of materials will include wool with jute, pure jute and pure wool. Rezas is also currently busy building up a wider kilim programme, with similar colour and material preferences. In terms of looking ahead, Rezas can see that the trend for ‘nomadic’ design is continuing and broadening, so the company is busy keeping ahead of the aesthetic.

‘Our newest products have drawn great inspiration from traditional patterns and processes, all made to fit a modern aesthetic.’
Reza Rejaye

In relation to the current trends for natural materials and traditional crafts, the Rezas design portfolio has a lot to offer the market. Keep an eye out for the latest Rezas designs and the company’s new catalogue Modern Rugs, which will be on its Maison&Objet stand in September.
