The new issue of COVER will be out shortly! The Summer 2011 edition will include an extensive article on the best rugs and textiles that showed at April’s Milan Design Week, from trend forecaster Li Edelkoort‘s ‘Talking Textiles’ exhibition and Nodus‘s new designs to work at Salone and all the satellite shows. COVER takes a look at the crazy world of We Make Carpets, and the beautiful new fabrics from New York’s F J Hakimian. We talk to GAN Rugs, and offer an exclusive look at Lapchi‘s new André Arbus carpet collection while trends focus on modular rugs and tie dye design. Rug hookers Red Spruce from Nova Scotia, Florida’s NIBA Rugs, India carpet producer Choudhary Exports and Vartian from Vienna all come under the spotlight. The new issue will feature reports on Afghan weaving, New York’s interior design show Kips Bay, and a review of Alix’s Perrachon’s new book ‘The Decorative Carpet’ with words from David Easton and Matthew Patrick Smyth. COVER reviews ICFF and numerous international exhibitions including the Makur carpet exhibition by Odabashianin Mexico City and looks to the forthcoming New York rug show NYICS and there are even more pages of news and views.
