Talking Textiles and more in Stockholm

The Stockholm Furniture Fair returns on 7-11 February 2012 with companies such at Bolon, Bute Fabrics, Kasthall, Kinnasand, Kvadrat, Marimekko, Nya Nordiska, Wobedo Design, Kateha, Makeda. The SFF forms part of the Stockholm Design Week (6-12 February), which will feature some exciting events including another installment of Li Edelkoort’s brilliant Talking Textiles show which debuted in Milan last year. The show will be part of a larger event called History is Ongoing, intended to be a vision of what a future design museum may entail, at at DesignHall from 3 February to 15 April 2012. Talking Textiles will be a large selection of design that uses innovative textile techniques, heralding the revival of textiles in our interiors. The exhibition, as with the Milan event, is part of an initiative to discuss textiles at a time when textile mills are in danger of disappearing. Designs will come from Patricia Urquiola, the Campana Brothers, Maarten Baas, Moroso, Nodus, Paul Smith, Studio Job, BCXSY, Claudy Jongstra, Kiki van Eijk, Maharam plus work from graduate designers.
