Serious buyers flock to the trade-only biannual extravaganza that is High Point, which always offers an almost overwhelming choice of products in tandem with great networking opportunities. Those looking for a professional introduction to the autumn fair can take advantage of tours by five design insiders who will be taking visitors to see their High Point highlights on the opening day; Choose between Michel Smith Boyd, Jeanne Chung, Linda Holt, Jana Platina Phipps (aka ‘Trim Queen’) and Sarah Walker. Then on Monday 21 October at 9.30am, residential design firm owner Cynthia Ferguson from Toronto will lead a Style Spotters Trend Tour with a focus on textiles, registration starts from 9.15am at The Point. Amadi Carpets are bringing an impressive arsenal of standout designs including a fruity pineapple design in a colourway at once sophisticated and fun. Along with French Accents’ Mid Century Modern Collection, this sees flashes of colour infiltrating the popular blue-grey palette, a trend also seen in Tamarian’s Crated Stone in a practical quality promoted as suitable for high traffic areas. Samad will introduce two new power-loom collections, Mykonos and Santorini, and three hand-knotted collections: the Caspian Collection offering modern adaptations of traditional patterns coloured to suit today’s interiors; the Affinity Collection in blue and grey shades; and the Mystique Collection, with colour palettes that ‘reflect everyday feelings of passion, sorrow, joy and romance by simulating the ebbs and flows of our human experience’. Danny Shafiian of French Accents hopes to continue the strong momentum experienced at the last High Point Market, saying ‘We had one of our best turnouts during the grand opening of our new showroom at 200 Steele Building. We expect to have an even bigger turnout for High Point Market this October. French Accents will be showcasing only the best performing designs along with many new introductions.’
