Kimono fabric design competition
Japan Textile Dyeing Joint Association is sponsoring an international kimono fabric design competition to showcase new talent in the field of textile design. Bringing together tradition and innovation, the initiative will broaden the range of patterns available to the garment integral to Japanese identity and history. The winner’s design will be displayed in an exhibition in Japan and Europe (Paris, Cologne and Amsterdam), and Japanese expert craftsmen will realise the pattern in the finest quality silk.
