Modern embroideress Louise Gardiner is back in London with ‘You Blow Me Away’: a show of new works created in her Cheshire studio, exclusively for the Christmas 2015 exhibition in The Gallery at Anthropologie, 131 – 141 King’s Road, on show until 31 January 2016.

Intricate wall-mounted embroideries use complex combinations of cutting-edge materials that mean the works flash and sparkle in their frames (as demonstrated with the help of a bike light by Gardiner at the preview). Her favourite original works have been transformed into wearable works of art in the form of printed silk scarves and also appear in printed form on sumptuous velvet cushions and floor poufs. The artist will be in store working her magic live for one week from Tuesday 8 December 2015. She will be working intuitively from scratch, using a sewing machine, hand painting and applique techniques to create a unique, one-off structure in high vis, PVC and felt. Drop by to see her in action!
