Salone del Mobile is the one design show that everyone wants to play a part in. This year, cc-tapis are sure to delight in Hall 24 with a stylish stand and new covetable rugs by the likes of Patricia Urquiola, Martino Gamper, Jean-Marie Massaud, david/nicolas, Maarten De Ceulaer, cc-tapis design-lab, Mae Engelgeer, Cristina Celestino, Germans Ermics and StudiopepeA selection of designs will also be on display at the cc showroom on Piazza Santo Stefano. Don’t forget to pick up a copy of COVER 54, featuring guest editors cc-tapis, on the cc stand and at the showroom.

Also in Hall 24, Spanish brand Alfombras Veo Veo will be displaying rugs with Jose Martinez Medina and Alizarina Silva’s Rug San Blas design for By Kamy will be on show. Hall 22 will be home to new designs by Kristiina Lassus and 5 new collections by Amini Carpets, who will also be showing new work in their showroom on via Borgogna while the new Antonio Marras’s Limited Edition Collection will be at via Cola di Rienzo 8. At Salone also expect Thibault van Renne, Warli, Golran, Illulian, Moret and all the design greats.

Celebrating the brand’s 20th anniversary, Henzel Studio will play a big part in fuorisalone this year with big bold crazy new rugs at both Rossana Orlandi and Alcova Sassetti. Ashley Bickerton, Carsten Höller, Tony Oursler and Jwan Yosef rugs will feature at Orlandi while Olaf Breuning, Calle Henzel, Helmut Lang and Marilyn Minter rug designs will be at Alcova Sassett across town.

Ventura Projects will celebrate its 10th anniversary with the two returning shows Ventura Centrale and Ventura Future. The latter is the home of new designers and this year will be located at BASE Milano on via Tortona, near Superstudio, where Olk Manufactory—who featured in COVER 54—will be showing rugs from the Ukraine. Ventura Centrale returns to the 16 vaults under Milan’s central train station.

Also celebrating ten years is rug brand Nodus, who will return to the Facoltà Teologica dell’Italia Settentrionale in Brera with rugs by Färg & Blanche, Xavier Lust, Joost van Bleiswijk, Estudio Campana, Clementine Chambon, Giuseppe Manzoni and Alicia Palys. Always a great display!

For more in Brera, see the latest designs from Moooi Carpets at a new location (via Della Moscova 28), Fornasetti rugs at the brand’s showroom at Corso Venezia 2 and Lyk Carpet at Palazzo Clerici. New rug designs by Atelier Fevrier will be found at Galleria Bolzani and on via Solferino the ‘Hemma Gone Wild’ features Swedish brands including Vandra Rugs and Bolon, who are celebrating 70 years in 2019.

In the rest of town, new rugs by Italian carpet brand Karpeta will show alongside wallpaper by Texturae at via Farini 10, Sardinian weavings by Mariantonia Urru will be displayed at via Valtorta 9, the Wallpaper* Handmade space at via San Gregorio 29 is worth a visit and Mae Engelgeer’s latest textiles will be part of a group show at SEM (via Garofalo 31). Don’t miss the new show curated by Libby Sellers with exhibition design by Patricia Urquiola at Nilfar Depot, the 5VIE opening event on Wednesday evening and all the highlights Milan can offer!
