High Point Market, 16-20 October 2021

October 15, 2021

More than 100,000 square feet of new and expanded showrooms showcasing handmade rugs add to the excitement of fall market

New space and expanded showrooms at High Point Market for rug exhibitors includes Art Resources’ new showroom at Historic Market Square, Momeni’s expanded showroom at IHFC (International Home Furnishings Center), and Feizy’s expansion at Market Square and new showroom at Showplace. COVER reached out to these and other select rug companies to discover more.

Rug & Kilim: IHFC – G373, Green, Floor 3

Rug & Kilim’s fashion-forward rugs will be showcased at market. ‘We are very excited about the new collections we are introducing in new yarns and textures in Scandinavian, as well as our much anticipated Art Deco line in addition to our very successful Mid-Century collection’, says founder Josh Nazmiyal. ‘We are hoping for a very successful and busy show.’ If the phenomenal surge in interest in home interiors during lockdown is any guideline, Rug & Kilim will doubtless enjoy an exceptional show.

Feizy: Market Square – 145, Floor 1

‘We are so excited for High Point in October’, says Justin Yek, VP of Omnichannel Sales, Marketing and Product Design and Development. ‘Our new showroom at 2300 Showplace is in addition to our flagship space in Market Square. Together they create easy access to the Feizy brand across the High Point campus. We are excited to introduce nine new collections which are sure to be instant hits. We’ve also added additional designs to our best-selling Cadiz, Norah and Luna collections. This follows our strategy of offering design and trend forward new collections at each market, especially through the pandemic. This year we have launched our strategic partnership with Thom Filicia as well as 20+ new collections and over 30+ new designs to existing collections.’

Art Resources: Market Square – 278, Floor 2

Art Resources celebrates their new showroom at Historic Market square plans with the debut of two (or maybe three!) new rug designs, as well as new additions to its program rugs. To facilitate buyers, Art Resources is using QR code (touchless technology that enjoyed a surge of engagement during the pandemic) for its program rugs. ‘One wall of the showroom is dedicated to program rugs, and unique to Art Resources is a QR code label for each rug that can be used to let retailers or customers know exactly what is available—from the size, to what’s on the loom and when it will be finished’ reveals Adeel Ahmad. Featured rugs include an innovative hand-knotted, modern design woven with silk and hand spun wool, and Navajo-inspired rugs that ‘stay true to the complex original mode of construction, using a continuous warp and interlock weave technique.’

French Accents: 200 Steele – 112, Floor 1

‘We are excited to be back at market to introduce many of our new designs from various collections like the classic Khotan collection, and our new Rebel series that features striking, bold modern geometric shapes. High Point Market is a great venue for meeting new clients and receiving feedback on our products. The responses we receive from each market allow us to be better at what we love to do–making timeless rugs.’

Creative Touch: Suites At Market Square – G-3042, G-3045, G-3046, Ground

A much-anticipated showroom at market is Creative Touch who will offer special market pricing of a few select collections including Vintage Overdyed, Kilim and Vintage Anatolian. Baki Ildiz, President of Creative Touch reveals ‘we always plan on showcasing new designs at High Point market since it is usually a well-attended show that draws crowds from many geographic locations. In addition to introducing our new designs for Bosphorus and Van collections, we are focusing on bringing in-stock items. There will be a number of patterned neutrals from our Bosphorus collection, but also a good number of over-sized rug options since those have been in high demand. At the end of the day, we are happy to show our product in person and get some real time feedback on the needs of our customers.’

Momeni: IHFC – H345, G365, Hamilton, Floor 3

Momeni’s newly expanded showroom means the leading manufacturer and importer of fine rugs, has more space to feature licensed collaborations such as the Tugart and Rafalla collections created with Christiane Lemieux of Lemieux et Cie influenced by Coptic textiles, Tuareg mats and Berber rugs alongside the high-quality Afghan rugs Momeni is known for as well as a selection of one-of-a-kind hand-knotted rugs from Pakistan, India and Turkey. ‘We enjoy a unique position in the marketplace’ says Aria Momeni, ‘and we offer unique rugs as well a vast variety of program rugs in power loomed and tufted as well as prints.’
