Museum Arnhem in The Netherlands is currently holding an exhibition entitled ‘Threads’, which feature works from more than 20 international artists and designers in which the medium of thread or textiles play a prominent role. The event press release states “Their work can be seen as a metaphor for the ‘interweaving’ of artistry and craft; art and the public; and personal and societal themes. These themes range from the symbolic socio-political meanings of decorative patterns, ecology and sustainability to the role of connecting through social (and virtual) networks.”

The multidisciplinary exhibits include installations, video works, wall hangings and standing objects, some of which are interactive by artists such as Faig Ahmed, Christien Meindertsma, Fransje Killaars and Ana de la Cueva.

The show ends on 17 August 2014.
